Dr. Tanisha Robinson, PhD, LCSW

T. ROBINSON, PhD, LCSW, LICSW

Owner & Lead Clinician of Imani Holistic Counseling LLC

She received her education at Rutgers University, graduating in 2015 with her Master’s in Social Work. She then received her LCSW in the Fall of 2019 and started her practice in December 2019. She received her PhD in 2023 in Public Health Education.
She is a clinical social worker that focuses on holistic practices for her clients that use mindfulness, creative arts therapies & play therapy techniques, yoga, deep breathing, and aromatherapy techniques. She is able to utilize CBT and/or DBT skill building along with those other modalities to help give an overall therapeutic approach. She also works with people who take medications or who are needing information on health education or medication management. She does a lot of short-term behavioral health modalities as well as longer-term outpatient therapy. She has worked with people of all ages and specializes in trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, communication issues, co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance abuse) and adjustment disorders; all for children, teens, adults, older adults, couples, groups, and families.

Dwayne Wright, MSW, LMHP-S

DWAYNE WRIGHT, MSW, LMHP-S

Supervisee in Social Work, Therapist

Dwayne is a supervisee in social work and an outpatient therapist at Imani Holistic Counseling. He has worked in the social work community for over 18 years as a Caseworker, Direct Support Professional and Qualified Mental Health Practitioner. Dwayne has worked with a number of populations over the years including children, adolescents, adults, Intellectual Disabled, Mental Health, and in-home care for persons with physical disabilities.

 

Dwayne has been a Washington DC resident since 1986 and is a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt Senior High School. He is a graduate in Psychology from Bethany College and Howard University School of Social Work.

Shamika Hinton, Supervisee in Social Work, Therapist

Shamika has over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, couples and families. In her therapeutic practice, she adopts both a collaborative clinical and forensic viewpoint that allows for client collaboration.  Her approach is client centered using trauma informed CBT and other interventions that are individualized to the client’s life experience.

My passions include working with my clients to heal from intergenerational traumas, adverse childhood experiences, and inner child work through a culturally competent lens. She have worked with clients from various backgrounds including those who are experiencing Anxiety, Depression, Post-traumatic stress disorder, Attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder, and other emotional and behavioral ailments. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring and indulging in the cultural cuisine and fashions of my travels. She looks forward to working with you on your mental wellness journey!
